Google Fast Flip – Fastest Way to Read Customized News Online

Google Fast Flip is an online news aggregator web application that lets users discover and share news articles. It was launched in beta by Google Labs. Fast Flip provides a new reading experience that combines qualities of print and the Web. Like a print magazine, Fast Flip lets you browse sequentially through bundles of recent news, headlines and popular topics, as well as feeds from individual top publishers. As the name suggests, flipping through content is very fast, so you can quickly look through a lot of pages until you find something interesting. At the same time, Google provide aggregation and search over many top newspapers and magazines, and the ability to share content with your friends and community.

Google Fast Flip presents images of stories from Google’s news partners, which can be clicked on to navigate to the story on the news provider’s own website. Stories can be scrolled between using the mouse or cursor keys.

Fast Flip also personalizes the experience for you, by taking cues from selections you make to show you more content from sources, topics and journalists that you seem to like. In short, you get fast browsing, natural magazine-style navigation, recommendations from friends and other members of the community and a selection of content that is personalized.

To build Fast Flip, Google partnered with three dozen top publishers in U.S., including the New York Times, the Atlantic, the Washington Post, Salon, Fast Company and Newsweek. Now there are approximately 98 news partners, full list available here. Google hope to add more publishers in the future. Google says it will share the majority of revenue from contextual adverts with its news partners.

Google facts and figures (massive infographic)

Google has perhaps more than any other company become “The Internet Company.” It’s grown hand in hand with the internet and its entire business model has from the start been totally focused on the internet as a delivery platform.
And let’s face it, Google is a pretty interesting company. In fact, we think it’s so interesting that we put together this infographic with a ton of facts and figures about Google. We’ve been digging through Google’s SEC filings, news articles and the trusty old Wikipedia to get plenty of interesting data to include. We hope you like it!

Google: Desktops Will Be Irrelevant in Three Years’ Time

Speaking at the Digital Landscapes conference at UCD, European director of Google’s online sales John Herlihy said that Google is mostly oriented towards mobile devices, claiming they’ll become more important than desktop PCs.
“In three years time, desktops will be irrelevant. In Japan, most research is done today on smart phones, not PCs,” he said.
True, with Android (Android) and Nexus One Google has shown a commitment to extend its dominance from the online world to the mobile world. But will desktop PCs really become irrelevant? Depends on how you look at it. Google (Google) isn’t really interested in how we edit our photos; it’s interested in where we store them, and increasingly, we do that at a place is a part of their domain – the cloud.
And if your data moves to the cloud, and most of your daily online activities are done on devices such as the Nexus One and the iPad, where simple, widget-style applications cater to your precise needs, then yes, desktop PCs as we know them now will become a lot less important.

Neembuu Uploader v2.0 Released - A complete renovation

Features Overview:
  • LOGIN SUPPORT
  • QUEUE MANAGER
  • MULTIPLE FILES SELECTION
  • DRAG AND DROP FEATURE!
  • 3 NEW HOSTS: HOTFILE, FILEDUDE, UPLOADMB (Well, I could only complete UploadMB.. Hotfile and Filedude with the help of Shashaank-ji..)
QUEUE MANAGER

Can you see the tiny spinner above? That guy lets you specify the maximum number of simultaneous uploads. It's set to 2 by default and can be set from 1 to anything. That guy is intelligent. If you increase the count from 2 to 3, it'll automatically start the next upload so that 3 uploads simultaneously.. Required just 5 lines of common sense.

ps. Check out that catchy Clint Eastwood dialogue I parodied in the Text Field. ;)

MULTIPLE FILE SELECTION
This feature is useful only if the above feature is implemented. And I did. Previously you can select only one files at a time. If you want to upload many files from a directory, then you'd have to add each file one by one. Now it's not a problem. You can select any number of files and start upload. Required little change.

DRAG AND DROP
Yes!.. It makes life easier.. Just drag some files and throw into Neembuu Uploader and start uploading.. See these two drag and drop screenshots..

LOGIN SUPPORT

This is what everyone had been waiting for.. I was successful in adding Login support for Hotfiles.com I'll add for other sites after the exams..
When you open Neembuu Uploader for the first time, it'll ask you for your account details. It lets you upload your files right into your account. If you don't have an account, then ignore it. It won't ask again unless you click the "Accounts" button later. You can also disable your account at any time.

It'll automatically check if the login details are correct. It'll throw an error in case if it's wrong and ask you for details again.
In the above ubuntu screenshot, I had dragged and dropped a file and uploaded into my Hotfile account. If I check my Hotfiles account in my browser, my file is there.

This feature is dependent on your system login. So even while executing the same Neembuu Uploader, your uploads will go into your account and your sister's uploads will go into her account. Just like the recently uploaded history.
Now you can just open NU, throw in some files, select host, click upload, minimize, forget and open VLC ;)
Thanks
